Rick Hooker, CEO
Rick joined Pile and Company as President in 1987, shortly after it was founded by Skip Pile. In his current role as CEO, Rick is responsible for the overall strategic plan, as well as delivering the highest levels of client satisfaction across the two business groups: Pile and Company Consulting and Pile and Company Staffing. He began his career at Ingalls Advertising as Manager of Broadcast Services, becoming Vice President in 1984 and taking responsibility for agency operations. Rick holds B.S. and M.B.A. degrees from Babson College.

Judy Neer, President/Managing Partner
As President/Managing Partner of Pile and Company, Judy leads all the company divisions. Judy joined Pile in 1996 after spending twenty years in the advertising industry in Boston. She began her career at Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopolous and also worked at agencies such as Emerson Lane Fortuna and Ingalls Advertising. Judy worked with a range of clients that included Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism, Cabot Stains, TJX Corporation, Raytheon, Thom McCann, CVS/Pharmacy, The Boston Globe and others. In the last five of her years at Ingalls, Quinn & Johnson, she was Senior Vice President, Director of Client Services and then Senior Vice President, General Manager. She was responsible for all agency clients, new business and overall agency management. During her fifteen-plus years with Pile, Judy has worked on hundreds of reviews for clients in a broad range of industries including retail, financial services, consumer services, business-to-business and technology. She has witnessed the evolving role agencies play within the dynamic world of advertising and marketing communications. Judy has led the expansion of the scope of agency reviews Pile handles from advertising only to now include media, direct marketing, sales promotion, design, multicultural, digital, brand, sports marketing and more. She has further driven the diversification of her company’s slate of consulting services to include Agency Performance Evaluation and Agency Compensation. Judy is active in the Boston advertising community and lives in Cohasset, MA with her husband, Frank, and daughter, Jenna.

Mike McDonnell, VP, General Manager
Mike joined Pile and Company as the company's Controller in 2003 to lead the finance department. In 2007, his role expanded and now includes not only the oversight of finance but also the overall management of the staffing group, Communications Collaborative. Mike holds a B.S. in Finance from Providence College.

Eric Gendron, Director of Business Development
Eric joined Communications Collaborative in December 2007. Eric is charged with the discovery and development of new clients in search of marketing and communications freelance talent. Eric is a graduate of The College of the Holy Cross where he played NCAA Division 1 Football and was a three-year starter along the offensive line.

Joyce Bethoney, Director of Recruiting
As Director of Recruiting, Joyce is responsible for overseeing the recruiting team and building Communications Collaborative's network of New England's top freelance and permanent creative and marketing talent. She has spent nearly ten years in creative staffing and corporate recruiting and has been a part of the creative industry since the inception of her career in television production. Joyce is an Emerson College graduate with a B.S. in Mass Communications.

Mary Truslow, Senior Recruiter
Mary's deep knowledge of and experience in advertising and marketing brings insight and expertise to our network of creative and marketing professionals. She knows the high caliber of talent in the Boston area and the importance of listening in order to match the right people with the right opportunities. Prior to joining Communications Collaborative, Mary spent 15 years at ad agencies and ten years at marketing communications staffing firms. Anna Wacks, Account Manager, Full-Time Staffing
Anna is responsible for full-time staffing, working with both clients and candidates to fill permanent placement needs. Prior to joining Communications Collaborative, she directed a boutique PR agency serving tourism, film, and public sector clients. Her background also includes marketing for fitness and philanthropy. Anna graduated from Lewis and Clark College with a B.A. in Communication.

Jeff Trueblood, Vice President, Director of IT
Jeff joined Pile and Company in 2000 to lead the implementation of its strategic information technology plan. Prior to joining the firm, he provided production and IT support to BBK Communications, Filenes and Staples. Jeff has a Bachelors of Industrial Design from Syracuse University.

Katrina Miller, Communications Designer
Katrina joined Pile and Company in 2003 from Dean & Scott, a full service law firm in the Boston area. In 2004, she was promoted to Communications Designer taking on responsibility for the creation and active management of the organization's brands and graphic identity. Katrina graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a B.A. in Art/Marketing.

Matt Schoener, Assistant Controller
Matt joined Pile and Company in 2011 to support the finance team. He began his career in Fund Accounting at Investor's Bank and Trust before moving on to the Structured Trusts and Analytics team at State Street Corporation. Matt holds a Business Management degree from Merrimack College and coaches youth basketball in his spare time.
